Run it on your machine
Download the local shell, start it, connect a portal. The free tier.
The local shell is the whole product with nothing hosted: your tokens, your graph, your machine.
What you need
- A Mac, a Windows PC or a Linux machine. Nothing else is installed.
- A HubSpot private-app token. Connect HubSpot says how to make one.
Download
One file, no installer. Unpack it anywhere; it keeps its workspaces in your user folder and nothing goes anywhere else on your machine.
| Platform | File |
|---|---|
| macOS, Apple silicon | tanglemap-macos-arm64.tar.gz |
| macOS, Intel | tanglemap-macos-x86_64.tar.gz |
| Windows | tanglemap-windows-x86_64.zip |
| Linux | tanglemap-linux-x86_64.tar.gz |
The Apple silicon build is signed with our Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so it opens like anything else. The Intel and Windows builds are not signed yet, and each system shows its usual prompt for an unknown publisher; on an Intel Mac, right-click the file, choose Open, and it remembers.
Start the shell
tar -xzf tanglemap-macos-arm64.tar.gz # or unzip, on Windows ./tanglemap serve
Your browser opens the app on localhost. Create a workspace, then connect HubSpot from its first card: paste the token, and the first collect runs while you watch the log. When it lands, the structure, trajectory and roster light up in the nav.
Where things are
Each workspace is a folder in your user's application-data folder (Library/Application Support/Tanglemap on a Mac, %APPDATA%\Tanglemap on Windows, ~/.local/share/tanglemap on Linux): its config, a SQLite file holding the graph, and an env file holding the token. Set TANGLEMAP_HOME to put it somewhere else. That folder is yours to back up.
What the local edition keeps
One workspace, one CRM plus one other system, and the last ninety days of the changelog. It collects on demand, and on its schedule while the app is open; it does not run in the background. Every view and every assessment is unlimited. Hosted plans lift the limits and run the collector while nobody is watching.
Connect an assistant
./tanglemap mcp --tenant <workspace id> --config
prints a configuration block. Connect an assistant says where to paste it.
